Dawn Farris
Children's and Family Ministries Director

Dawn was born in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and grew up in Long Beach, California, Waukegan, Illinois, and O'Fallon, Missouri. She is a graduate of Truman State university (formerly Northeast Missouri State University), with a major in Communications. She has served as Children's Director at New Testament Christian Church since 1999. The first five years of her ministry at New Testament Christian Church, Dawn served as a volunteer. She joined the staff as parttime Children's Director in 2005, and became full time in 2013.

Dawn and her husband Tim have been married since 1984. In addition to living in the Keokuk area, Tim and Dawn have lived in Rouen, France, Muscatine, Iowa, and Kingsport, Tennessee. They are the parents of two sons, Connor and Trevor. Connor is currently ministering with Mission to Russia in Kostroma, Russia, teaching English in the Light to the World Christian School, preaching and leading Sunday School classes and working with students in his spare time with his lovely new wife, Natasha. After graduation from Ozark Christian College in May, Trevor will head to a ministry with Valley Real Life in Spokane Valley, WA as a children's minister, and will be joined there by his fiance Jordan after their wedding.

Dawn shares her love for New Testament Christian Church in this way: "About twenty years ago, I met God here. I found people who cared about Jesus, who were willing to teach me what they knew about Him and nurtured me along to become a more mature believer. Today, I am privileged to be a part of those things in other people's lives. A great God, the power of the Word, and a loving church family working together to change lives are just a few of the things I like best about New Testament Christian Church."

When she is not busy with her children's ministry responsibilities Dawn speaks at women and youth events, leads sessions at LaMoine Christian Camp, maintains a blog and mentors other children's ministers. She enjoys spending time with her family watching Duck Dynasty and the NFL with her husband, "adventuring" out to visit Connor and Trevor, and spending time with her parents in St. Louis. Lunch with some girlfriends, summer weeks at church camp, creek walking with some HiSKidZ, and going to watch their games and activities are some of the things that keep her happy, happy, happy!
